Minister of Transport, Works and Transport Development Ignatius Chombo said the extension of the border road was undertaken as a way to develop the Lubombo district and promote tourism in the area. Chombo was speaking to the Zimbabwean media in Bulawayo this week. Chombo added that the extension of the road would be complete by the end of 2018. “Once we have completed this road, we will have improved access for tourists, locals and for business people in the area.” He said the extension of the road would be made possible by the inauguration of the Addington Cross Border Post in August 2017.
